Mount Stuart House – This amazing Gothic mansion set in 300 acres of botanical gardens is well worth a visit.

Take an open top bus tour around the island from June and take in the stunning Ettrick Bay and why not stop for lunch.  On the rest of the tour you will visit Kingarth, Scalpsie Bay, Kilchattan Bay, Kerrycroy Village which is designed as a little English village by the beach.

When you arrive back into Rothesay don’t forget to visit Rothesay Castle and the Museum.

There is a vast choice of activities to keep you in the outdoors including, cycling, fishing, walking, including the West Island Way, sailing, kayaking, golfing and horse riding

There are 3 golf clubs on the island all with stunning views of the island and surrounding area.

June sees the Rat Rod event hosted by the Rockerbilly Diner

Don’t forget Butefest the islands family friendly music festival - held in July

During the summer months the world’s last ocean going paddle steamer the Waverly visits the island and is well worth a trip on board.

Bute has berthing at Rothesay Harbour and Port Bannatyne.

Visit the beautiful gardens at Ardencraig and the Fernery at Ascog
